THE RFP

Xbox and ASUS have partnered up to create the ROG ALLY, a handheld gaming console. They are looking for designs of an in-person gaming pod for people to demo the ALLY in a big new way. They want it to be cinematic and immersive, with the call to action, "Step Inside The Game."

THE DESIGN

The Hypersphere is the first ever 360 degree gaming experience. The design is sleek and modern. It has a smooth matte finish with a monochromatic palette, along with clean edges and minimal decoration. These elements work to create a design that appears futuristic and cinematic, as well as fitting the aesthetic of the two brands. It also features the iconic Xbox logo displayed on the front. Inside the Hypersphere is a swivel gaming chair that can rotate 360 degrees, allowing the viewer to see the entire environment around them. When inside of the Hypersphere, everything that the user does on the Ally will be projected onto the screens.

THE LOGO

The logo takes inspiration from the wireframe of a sphere. The poles are twisted to evoke the fourth dimension, hence the word "Hypersphere" which is defined as a sphere that exhibits more than 3 dimensions.

MOCK-UPS

The branding around the Hypersphere would mainly be focused around translating the 360 degree view onto the 2D advertisements. Some would also feature the ALLY to show the difference in screen size and what would be seen on the console, versus what would be seen in the Hypersphere. 

SOCIAL MEDIA VIDEO

This social media story would introduce the Hypersphere and show off its capabilities in a punchy, cinematic animation.
